Tribute

Dennis Arthur O’Mahoney, 59, passed away unexpectedly; but peacefully, on Monday, July 27, 2020 in his home located in Cape Coral, FL, from natural causes.

Dennis was born on July 4th, 1961, to Dennis O’Mahoney and Bridget O’Mahoney in Newark, NJ, and is preceded in death by his father. Dennis was a graduate of Clifton High School where he began his career at Deluxe Check Corporation and completed 25 years of service. While working at Deluxe, Dennis met his soul mate and dear love of his life, Pamela. On September 18, 1982, the two were wed and began the greatest life together. September 18, 2020, would have marked 38 years of marriage for the two. Dennis and Pam both settled down in Pompton Plains, NJ, where they started their family and welcomed two boys; Dennis B. O’Mahoney and Kevin O’Mahoney. In the Spring of 2005, Pam entrusted Dennis to venture out to Florida alone and purchase their dream home. With Pam’s input and mutual tastes, Dennis moved his family down to Cape Coral, FL, in July 2005 into a beautiful lifelong home where the boys were raised and the house was fortified with memories. Dennis started his second career as a meat cutter with Publix Supermarkets where he worked for approximately 9 years before retiring early.
While working for Deluxe, Dennis answered the call of duty to risk his life and serve his local community by joining the Pequannock Township Volunteer Fire Department where he rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant assigned to Engine Company 1.
Dennis made lifelong connections during his service to both Deluxe and the Fire Department. His coworkers and friends would commonly describe him as selfless and honorable, as well as being a great friend. He taught his sons to always work hard and they continue to carry on his legacy of selfless service to the community.

Dennis is survived by his mother Bridget O’Mahoney, Wife Pam O’Mahoney; Children Dennis B. O’Mahoney (Ashley and soon-to-be born granddaughter Olivia O’Mahoney) and Kevin O’Mahoney; Siblings Bridget Galdo (Louis), Margaret Fivehouse (Allen), Barbara Darcy (Robert), Kathy Bosch (Ralph); Nieces and Nephews Antoinette and Vincent, Michael and Christina, Savannah and Alexandra, Ralph Jr. and Ryan; and numerous friends that Dennis considered family.
